My name is Renat Alimbekov. I’m an AI consultant and data scientist based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. I help founders and teams build products and processes on data and artificial intelligence.
For the past 18+ years I’ve been working at the intersection of software engineering, analytics, machine learning and business. I started as a web and PL/SQL developer, grew into data science and analytics roles, and later led the Big Data & Data Science department at VEON Kazakhstan (Beeline).
Experience
At VEON Kazakhstan I led a team of 35+ people across 7 streams — fintech, devices, mobile ads & GEO, computer vision, NLP, internal products and customer value management.
Together with the team we significantly increased the company’s profit within a year, standardized data processes and launched dozens of models and data‑driven products.
Earlier I worked as a Deep Learning Scientist in a MedTech startup, building medical image analysis systems to support doctors and radiologists with X‑ray, CT and mammography.
In banking and fintech I focused on credit scoring, antifraud and internal audit of information systems, building analytics tools and automation for decision‑making.
I’ve worked on LTV prediction models, job text classification (ROCAUC ~0.979), geo‑outlier detection (F1 ~0.95) and other applied ML solutions for real products.
What I do now
Today my focus is AI and data consulting, building and scaling AI‑powered products, designing data pipelines and RAG‑based assistants for navigating corporate information.
I help teams choose the right stack, design architectures, improve models and make sure AI solutions bring tangible business value.
I also run a consulting service with several formats:

– Mentoring for individuals and teams.
